Aromatherapy...

When people eat a food or consume a beverage the difference between the various foods is perceived by their odor.

If one has a cold or holds their nose while eating a food, only sweet, sour, bitter, salty and metallic can be detected.  One cannot tell the difference between an orange and an apple until their nasal passage is clear, which allows the flavors of the food to enter the olfactory bulb where the brain analyzes the vapors and says--Yes, this is an orange, or this is an apple.

Aromatherapy works the same way.  Vapors are passed into the air, which are picked up by our olfactory senses and separated into likes and dislikes.  There are certain aromatics which are definite turn offs, such as methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide, isovaleric acid, etc.

Other odors are found to be most pleasing, soothing, relaxing or stimulating, such as Chamomile, Lavender, Bergamot and Vanilla.

We at GSB Flavor Creators have compiled a list of flavors that have been tested and approved for usage in candles, lip gloss, lip balm, body oils and shampoos.

All the ingredients used are approved for use in foods and most flavors are a blend of natural and artificial ingredients.
